About Us

The story of Shooting Star Ranch – Barry & Christine Harrison

After boarding animals at a friend’s farm, we started our own farm, Shooting Star Ranch, in 1998. We have learned a lot and fallen in love with these animals’ beauty and unique personalities. We began with the goal of establishing a bull farm to produce Elk Velvet Antler, but soon discovered the many diverse products elk can produce. We expanded our farm to include a cow-calf operation. We now produce Premium Ranched Elk meat, EVA Performance, EVA Arthritis and Antler crafts.

We love to watch our elk strolling through the field outside our window, seeing the calves being born and listening to the magnificent bugling of the bulls in the fall.

You can see us in Edmonton on Saturdays at the Old Strathcona Farmer’s Market.
